Overview

The 'Answered Elsewhere' status in Ringotel call logs indicates that a call was picked up on a different extension, rather than the one currently being monitored.

Definition

'Answered Elsewhere' occurs when a call to a particular extension or device is answered by another extension before the current device handles it. This status confirms the call was successfully addressed by another extension.

Technical Causes

The status can be triggered by SIP signaling, especially when the CANCEL request from the PBX includes:

Reason: SIP;cause=200

or

Reason: Q.85;cause=26

These parameters indicate cancellation of the original device's ability to answer the call while confirming the call was answered elsewhere.
