You can register any SIP endpoint, such as IP Phones (desk phones), third-party softphones, SIPTAPI, etc., through the Ringotel platform, and securely route voice traffic to your PBX server. It provides the following benefits out-of-the-box:
Secure connectivity for remote workers: When connecting remote users, ensure that your infrastructure remains secure by using Ringotel as a secure VoIP tunnel to route voice traffic between remote users and your PBX. This eliminates the need for deploying a VPN or reconfiguring your Firewall/NAT.
Synchronization of call detail records and call recordings between devices: With Ringotel desktop or mobile app, you can view incoming calls and outgoing calls made via the IP Phone. You can also listen to call recordings on demand from within the Ringotel app.
Easy switching of calls between devices: During a conversation on your Ringotel mobile or desktop device, easily switch active calls to and from your IP Phone without interruption.
CRM integration: Synchronize calls made via the connected IP Phone with CRM records. Create leads with call details and call recordings, as well as pull contact details from integrated systems.
Deskphone integration mode: When you register SIP-endpoints through Ringotel, you can activate the Deskphone integration mode. This feature allows for automatic dialing of outbound calls via the connected IP Phone when initiated from the desktop app.
How to register IP Phone via Ringotel?
To register an IP Phone (desk phone) via Ringotel, follow these steps:
Navigate to the organisation's dashboard
Open the user's menu and select "Set terminal password"
3. Choose your preferred transport protocol and click “Confirm”.
You can optionally set the password instead of generating a new one. For this, untick the Autogenerate password box.
NOTE: The length of the password needs to be the same as set in the connection settings → Miscellaneous → “Terminal password length” option.
4. Use the generated credentials to configure your SIP endpoints
Is there a specific desk phone you see most common with ringotel or that is guaranteed to work best?
Our platform supports standard SIP protocol, which means that any device that is compatible with this protocol can be used with Ringotel.
While we do not have a preferred model or vendor, we have noticed that our customers have had great success with the following devices:
Fanvil X7-V2
Grandstream GXP 2170
Polycom VVX 250/VVX 450
Yealink T41S/T43U/T46S/T46U/T53W/T54W
Cisco SPA525G2
These devices have been tested and proven to work seamlessly with Ringotel. However, this does not mean that other devices will not work. As long as the device supports SIP, it should work with our system.
