Important:

Integration works only with Google Workspace accounts. Personal Gmail accounts are not supported.

Ringotel’s Google Contacts integration provides the following features:

✅ Identifies contacts on incoming / outgoing call

✅ Quickly call your Google contacts from Ringotel mobile or desktop app

✅ Provides link to a contact profile in Google Contacts

✅ Creates contacts in Google from the Ringotel mobile or desktop app

✅ Imports Google contacts into the Contact lists of the Ringotel users

Enable the integration for your Google account

Before configuring the integration on Ringotel, please ensure you allow third-party apps to access Directory data. For this:

  1. In your Google Admin console (at admin.google.com)

  2. Go to Menu → Directory → Directory Settings.

  3. Click Sharing settings → Contact sharing.

  4. Click Contact Sharing and Enable contact sharing.

  5. Click Save.

  6. Click External Directory Sharing.

  7. Select Organisation data and authenticated user basic profile fields to share with external apps and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).

  8. Click Save.

Changes can take up to 24 hours but typically happen more quickly. Learn more.

Set up the integration in Ringotel

Navigate to your organisation → Integrations tab. Click Enable Integration button on the Google Contacts panel.

Check the permissions that you would like to enable for this integration and click Sign in with Google button to proceed.

Click Sign in with Google. You will then be redirected for authentication page.

On the next step, select all permission to which this integration will have access and hit Continue.

After the successful authentication, you will be redirected back to your Ringotel Shell portal to finalize the integration. In the Ringotel Shell portal, map your Google and Ringotel users. Click Link users button to map users with the same email address in both systems.

Click Save changes. Now the integration should be configured for the mapped users.

Note:

To enable the integration, the linked users will need to log in to their Ringotel app and navigate to the Contacts tab. From there, they need to press Google Contacts and sign in using the Google Workspace account that has been linked with their Ringotel user account.
